TENNIS

BAIN IN ROMANIA

JACOBI Bain is the 4th seed in the Dr Oetker Junior Trophy main draw underway in Bucharest, Romania, May 20-28.

Bain will play his first match today against Romanian Andrei Voican.

Bain is in Europe until mid-July and will be playing on the Tennis Europe Under-14 circuit. He will be training and playing in the French Summer league.

While in Europe, Bain will be under the watchful eyes of coach Doru Murariu of Tennis Players Fitness Institute in Ellington, Florida.

THE New Providence Oldtimers Softball Association continued its regular season action at the Archdeacon William Thompson Park, Southern Recreation Grounds, over the weekend. The following results were posted:

BEACH

BALLIN’ by da Beach, under the theme ‘Makin’ Basketball Players and Coaches Better in the Bahamas,’ is all set to hold its annual Basketball Camp June 26-30 at Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium.

The camp, organised by Jurelle Nairn, is designed for boys and girls between the ages of five and 18 years. It is scheduled to run 9am to 3pm daily. The registration fee is $50 per player. Interested persons can contact Nairn at hello@bbdbcamps.com or call 429-7170/410-202-6232.
