‘Keen competition’ at annual Paradise Island Open Sr Golf tourney

ON behalf of the Bahamas Golf Federation, Atlantis and the Ocean Club Golf Course recently hosted the annual Paradise Island Open Senior Golf tournament.

“The event was held over two days in windy conditions but the competition was still very keen,” said a press release.

The Net Division was won by young Heathcliffe Kane with a score of 134 or -10 under par. Kelsey Rolle beat out Ian Howard on a countback for 2nd with a score of 140. Howard finished 3rd with the same score. Pablo Nahmias defended his title from 2017 and emerged as the Gross Division winner with a score of 144 - 2 shots better than the previous year.

Paul Tsavoussis also repeated his 2nd place finish with 153 and third was Peter McIntosh at 155. Kent Bethel from Abaco won the Senior Division with a score of 142 followed by another Abaconian, Darren Roberts, in 2nd with 152. Third was Chris Harris from Freeport with 153. The Super Senior Division was led by Freeport golfers Bobby Rose and Gaston Lampron who finished 1st and 2nd with scores of 133 and 139 respectively. Third was Peter Auberg with 142.

“The BGF extends its thanks to Atlantis and Ocean Club on another successful event. The next event on the BGF calendar is the BGF Classic at Albany on October 6th. This is also the final event for the Sands Beer Cup so golfers will have a chance to win 2 sets of prizes,” said the release.
