Dorian Roach, who also serves as the president of the BTA, said they are looking forward to some outstanding performances from the team.

“I feel good about this year’s team. We have about 20 competitors. Last year we had 12 and the year before we had four, so it’s definitely growing,” Roach pointed out.

“Our 11-12 girls are very strong, we also have a strong 11-12 boys group and we are represented in all age groups and genders.

“Our 13-15 girls group is also solid, as well as 16-19 boys, so I hope that we can come back with at least a couple podium finishes,” he added.

So far, the Bahamas has achieved one medal, that coming from Noah Roach in the aquathlon in the initial event in 2017 in Barbados in the 11-12 boys’ division.

Last year’s event was in Trinidad & Tobago.

A total of 12 countries have confirmed to participate in this year’s championships.
