Junior Pan Am Games: Athletes on track

SWIMMERS continued their success in the pool while athletics opened competition at the inaugural Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia.

Lamar Taylor had a top three finish in the B Final of the 50m freestyle in 23.61 seconds at the Hernando Botero O’Byrne Complex.

Nigel Forbes finished fourth in the B Final of the 200m individual medley in a season’s best time of 2:09.43 and the men’s 4x100m medley relay team finished fifth in the final with their time of 3:49.92.

On the track, Carlos Brown Jr advanced to last night’s final of the 100m. He finished fifth in 10.47 at the Pascual Guerrero Stadium.

Erick Cardoso of Brazil finished first in 10.33, followed by Neiker Sanchez of Colombia second in 10.36 and Franco Florio of Argentina was third in 10.37.

In the preliminary round, Brown ran 10.66 to finish fourth.

Gabriel Curtis ran a personal best time of 14:33.00 in the final of the 5,000m.
