please fire this full-of-himself idiot. If Bannister remains Minister of Works, the restoration costs will end up being three or four times what they should be over an inordinate period of time and there will be no real restoration, just a waste of taxpayer dollars and funds borrowed by the government. Dorian has made this incompetent and dishonest man even more dangerous to the financial health and well being of our country and its people.
Just more instigated bashing by the very nasty and arrogant Minnis who believes it is his duty to publicly "spank" and try ruin the political career of any MP who dares to jump off of "his FNM ship". Many of us wish more like Chipman would give Minnis a well deserved good spanking in public.
What this little twerp will not admit is that many hotels throughout the country are reporting as much as a 40% decline in their bookings for this winter season. And we all know air arrival tourists spend much more than the pittance spent on average by cruise ship visitors most of which ends up in the pockets of the cruise ship companies that have been given their own islands or port areas by our very dumb politicians.
We need an all new political party that recognizes the Bahamas belongs to the Bahamian people and not to the politicians, not to the leaders of any political party and certainly not to the people or corporate interests of any other country. Any such new political party must have the word "Bahamian" or "Bahamians" in it e.g. the BFB party - Bahamas For Bahamians.
Some very deserving individuals, but clearly being a National Hero has been irreparably cheapened by petty politics and is now without its intended cache. Oh well.....I miss Columbus Day or Discovery Day.
The government's **annual** premium cost for an all-inclusive and comprehensive major hurricane insurance policy covering the five most highly populated and developed islands up to $4 billion ($4,000,000,000) should be about $300 million ($300,000,000). Chicken feed! LMAO
No revised budget or change fiscal consolidation plan will be realistic if it does not take into account the very real high probability that New Providence will take a direct hit from a category 5+ major hurricane within the next 10 years at most. That's unfortunately the harsh reality of the impact on us of global warming and changing climate patterns. I just can't imagine New Providence looking like Central & North Abaco did in the immediate aftermath of Dorian.

Uummm.....let's think about this for a moment.....two for one at no cost.....debris up in smoke and cremation of remains.
May be we should just standby and let the illegal Haitian aliens start their fires.....at least for the time being.
