THE Assemblies of Brethren will gather for a special weekend of activities to foster greater unity among its members.
The January 27 to 29 weekend will begin with a Youth Musical/Talent Extravaganza on Friday, January 27 at the Abundant Life Bible Church. The event will showcase the musical talent of the youth of the various churches. The guest speaker will be Pastor Jermaine Watkins.
On Saturday morning, the United Men's/Sisters Breakfast will be held at the Christian Life Centre with speaker Pastor Cranston Knowles.
The highlight of the weekend will be the united "Communion Service" and the recognition of Brethren Heroes and Heroines. This special service will be held on Sunday at the East Street Gospel Chapel with guest speaker Pastor Allan Lee.
The guests of honour are men and women who have given 50 years of dedicated Christian service to the church and the community. They include" Pastor Tom Roberts, and Pastor David Cartwright, Elder Emeritus Sydney Burrows, Elder Emeritus Pembroke Smith, Elder Doddridge Hunt, Pastor Perry R. Wallace, Pastor Rex Major, Elder Obediah Goodman, Elder Emeritus Errol Rolle, Sister Vylma B Curling, Sister Beverly Deal Palmetto, and Elder Emeritus Cyril Griffin.
All events are free and the public is invited to attend.
