Bahamian management consultants move ahead

THE interim Bahamas Chapter of the Caribbean Institute of Certified Management Consultants (CICMC) has taken another step towards full Chapter certification and affiliation. Dennis Strong, a world-renowned management consultant and founding president of the CICMC, was the presenter during a May 14-16 Principles of Management Consultancy workshop attended by numerous Bahamian consultants . The workshop, which was also conducted in March 2012, is a prerequisite for certification for the globally accredited Certified Management Consultant designation. The three-day workshops were held to fast track Bahamian management consultants pursuing certification from the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), of which CICMC is a member institute. The CICMC is professional body of management consultants, initially established in 2007, with membership drawn from throughout the Caribbean community, With certification, a member earns the right to be called a 'Certified Management Consultant' or 'CMC'. The designation indicates that the consultant has met world class standards for competency, ethics, and independence, and can obtain reciprocity between ICMCI member institutes. Several members of the Bahamas Chapter are preparing to attend the CICMC's fourth Management Consulting Business Symposium, which will be held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort in Rose Hall, Jamaica, from June 19-21, 2012. The symposium will feature the following core activities: * Consulting Training * CMC Presentations * Consulting Opportunities * Networking Opportunities (global and regional) * Multiple booths and vendors
