DR SPARKMAN FERGUSON TO PERFORM TWELFTH ANNUAL BENEFIT RECITAL

ST JOHN'S College Music Department will again be the beneficiary of the proceeds from the annual Epiphany recital for solo organ to be performed by Dr Sparkman Ferguson on Thursday, January 26 at 7:45pm, Christ Church Cathedral. The 60-minute organ recital will feature Dr Ferguson performing works of the major organ composers. Included are the works of German composers Johann Sebastian Bach and Sigfrid Karg-Elert. The American Composers are Gordon Young and James Kasen; and the French composers are Alexandre Guilmant and Theodore Dubois. The lone English composer presented will be Eric Thiman. The proceeds of the concert will furnish new string instruments to St John's College students as they embark on forming the school's first orchestra. There is no admission charge for the recital, and all are welcome to attend. Previous concerts of Dr Ferguson have benefited St Anne's High school and the College of the Bahamas.
