THE Bahamas Association of Independent Secondary Schools (BAISS) kicked off its sudden death playoffs at the Kendal Isaacs gym on Monday.
In the junior girls' division, the St Andrew's Hurricanes blew past the Kingsway Academy Saints 28-24. And in the junior boys' game, the Queen's College Comets pounded the St John's Giants 67-48.
The senior girls' division saw the St Augustine's College Big Red Machine get the victory over St John's.
In the senior boys' game, St Augustine's College won 101-97 over St John's in overtime.
The other half of the sudden death playoffs is slated to begin 4pm today.
In the junior girls' division, the Temple Christian Suns are slated to face St Augustine's College, St Augustine's will play Kingsway Academy in the junior boys, Queen's College and Temple Christian are all set to battle in the senior girls and the Bahamas Academy Stars will take on the Westminster Diplomats in the senior boys' division.
The winners will advance to play in the best-of-three series that is scheduled to begin on Monday.
