THE Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Bahamas branch has held its first half-day tax seminar, with speakers from three jurisdictions presenting on Taxation and Tax Reporting Requirements of Offshore Structures.
The event was opened by Ryan Pinder, minister of financial services, who gave an overview of his plans for the industry over the next five years.
The speakers were Michael Cadesky and Grace Chow of Cadesky & Associates LLP, who presented on Canada's requirements; William Heuseler of Itau Private Bank International, who presented on Brazil's requirements; and Jack Brister of MBAF-ERE CPAs, LLC, who presented on the US requirements.
The event was sponsored by Graham, Thompson & Co and Bank of the Bahamas International was the gift sponsor.
