THERE are reports of a head-on collision late Saturday night on the airport road. However, police seemed to know nothing about it.
The Tribune understands the drivers of the vehicles sustained serious injuries and had to be rushed to the hospital.
However, when contacted, traffic police seemed to have no knowledge of the crash.
An eyewitness at the scene, who wished to remain anonymous, said the driver of a small vehicle was travelling on the wrong side of the road and collided with a truck.
"The vehicle was being driven by a Chinese male and there was a passenger in front and a woman in the back, they were driving on the wrong side of the road and the truck didn't see them and they crashed.
"The car was pinned between a tree and a truck. The driver of the truck got out, he was hurt but seemed to be okay," the witness said.
"However, the Chinese woman in the back of the car was pinned, blood was everywhere. She couldn't get out.
"There was another car that was following them and those people pulled the two men, the driver and the passenger, out of the car and put them on the side of the road."
"They looked unconscious. But they did not move the woman because she was severely hurt. Police came a short time later and I left."
Up to last night, police had not released a report on the accident.
