THE New Providence Women's Basketball Association (NPWBA) has officially announced the reconvening of its 2011 -12 regular season.
The new season will get underway tonight at the DW Davis gymnasium. In the opening contest at 7:30 pm, the undefeated Boomer G Angels will welcome the league's newest team, the Saints.
In the night cap at 8:30, the defending NPWBA championsn Four J's Cheeters will try to right the ship and overcome their inconsistent play early in the season when they face a surging and very improved College of The Bahamas Caribs squad.
A number of compelling storylines await the second half of the 2012 season for the NPWBA and its eager fanbase
* Will the Angels maintain momentum and go undefeated? Coach Anthony Swaby has publically expressed concern as to the degree of the loss of conditioning over the holidays.
* Head Coach Marion Bowleg is wondering over the Jekyll and Hyde appearence of his Four J's Cheeters, will they find their true form and defend their 2010 -11 championship?.
* The Super Value Cybots Queens have demonstrated they will be a team to
contend with. Coach Wade Watson has gone out and effectively re-structured the veteran crew.
* Is it only a matter of time before the Johnson Lady Truckers and Headman James Price put it all together?
* The pesky yet disciplined College of The Bahamas Caribs has played very well before the break; will coaches Kim Rolle and Charlene Smith be able to keep it together?
* The Lady Saints, in their first year, have been experiencing growing pains. Can Coach Devon "Dee" Johnson pull of the miracle as he did with his primary schools boys?
* Finally, as Coach Sharelle Cash continues to say: 'you will feel the Sentinels Stars'.
Following Thursday's double header, the schedule continues Saturday evening at 7am with the usual triple header.
