Police confirm murder was a revenge killing

THE man left to die on the street in an inner city community early yesterday morning was killed in an act of revenge, a police source confirmed. While police have not released the victim's identity, The Tribune understands he is 28-year-old Diallo Webster, alias "Fat Head" of Wulff Road. The police source also confirmed the victim was riddled with bullets at around 12.30am, after friends of a man he is thought to have shot in Yellow Elder Gardens retaliated. The victim, The Tribune understands, was able to tell police the story before he died. Webster is reported to have explained that as he stood near the Corner Pocket Club on the corner of Saint James and Kemp Roads, a black Honda Accord approached him. The occupants opened fire - leaving him with serious injuries in his left leg and stomach. He was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital by ambulance but died shortly before 3am. Over the next day, friends of the victim expressed their grief and disbelief at his death on Facebook. One friend said: "My boy gone man, killing can't done round here." "You was a good one boy, you gone too soon and without warning," another said. Police are urging members of the public to come forward with any information that might be relevant to their investigation.
