Police officer in rape claim

A SENIOR police officer has been accused of raping a female officer, The Tribune can reveal. An official complaint against the officer was filed on Thursday according to sources, who said the accused man has now been placed on administrative leave. When contacted for comment yesterday, several high-ranking officers refused to say anything about the matter. They said an official statement would have to be sought from Assistant Commissioner of Police Quinn McCartney. Last night, Mr McCartney said he did not want to comment at the time, but promised a full statement would be forthcoming. Minister of National Security Tommy Turnquest said he has not been advised of the alleged incident.
