I AM delighted to extend congratulations to Rotarians in the Bahamas as you celebrate 50 years of existence. Your journey officially began on January 19, 1962 and since that time you have made a significant impact in the lives of many within your community.
Moreover, your generosity has extended beyond your shores to many other countries as you have committed yourselves to bringing relief, support and encouragement to those who are challenged and in need.
The people of Haiti will continue to remember your kindness and genuine concern, expressed in action, when disaster struck, and your constant support.
Over the years, your Rotary Clubs have developed many leaders who have been able to support our District in leadership capacities. Some have even taken their passion beyond the District. This is proof of the quality of Rotarians that comprise the membership of your clubs.
I commend you on recognising the diversity among us and how we must engage them to bring about comprehensive response to the needs in our communities.
In 1995, you inducted your first female and have embraced their value as equal custodians of 'Service Above Self.' Your record of engagement with the youth of your nation is also commendable.
On behalf of all Rotarians comprising District 7020, I want to thank you for your valuable contributions over the past 50 years and further encourage you in the years ahead to continue in your zeal to 'Reach Within to Embrace Humanity'.
Sincerely,
Dr Guy Theodore
District Governor 7020
