A FRESH round of thunderstorms moved in over the northern and central Bahamas yesterday as Tropical Storm Debby made landfall in northwestern Florida.
The storm came ashore near the community of Steinhatchee late yesterday afternoon.
Debby is moving east-northeast at around 6mph, but an increase in forwards speed is expected over the next few days.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 40mph with higher gusts.
Debby was expected to weaken to a tropical depression at some point last night.
