AS the NCAA basketball season gets into full swing, it was an active week for a pair of Bahamians during a week of inter conference challenges.

J R Cadot equalled his double double total from the entire 2010 season, while Dwight Miller faced off against his former team in the SEC/Big East Challenge.

Cadot finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the TCU Horned Frogs' 70-68 overtime win over Evansville in the Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge Saturday night.

Hank Thorns scored the tying and winning baskets, the latter with two seconds left in overtime.

TCU won its third game in a row and improved to 6-2 in the Mountain West.

Cadot is the second leading scorer for the Horned Frogs with 11.8 points, and leads the team with 7.6 rebounds per game. He scored in his last four outings, with 11 in a win over Houston and 14 in a win over Lamar.

Cadot's highlight reel play of the year came with his game winner against Houston. He took the ball near halfcourt, weaved through a trio of players to attempt a reverse layup and after the miss, followed with his own rebound and a fallaway layup at the buzzer to win it.

In his junior season, Cadot ended the year with averages of 7.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He also shot 66 per cent from the field, 55 per cent from the free throw line and 37 per cent from beyond the arch.

At 6'5", 200 pounds, he also led the Horned Frogs in rebounds with 5.8 per game.

In 2010, he scored double double - 19 points and 10 rebounds and was one of two for the year after an 11-point, 10-rebound performance in an 81-77 win over Texas Tech on December 8.

Cadot spent the summer as a member of the Bahamas 2011 CBC Championship team when he averaged 10.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

Miller, now a member of the Tennessee Volunteers in the SEC, saw spot duty in the Volunteers 61-56 loss to Pittsburgh.

Miller saw 13 minutes of action with two points, two rebounds and a block in a reserve role.

Miller, a 6' 8" 245-pound forward, spent last season with Midland College of the National Junior College Athletic Association where he led the Chaparrals to the NJCAA title game. He began his collegiate career with the Pittsburgh Panthers of the Big East Conference.

He had a redshirt freshman season and played sparingly during his tenure in 16 contests in his sophomore campaign.

Transfer

Miller opted to transfer to a junior college to avoid the NCAA rule of sitting out an entire year before transferring from one D-I school to another. He was ranked the nation's 10th-best junior-college prospect by top flight recruiting website JucoJunction.com.

After the departure of nationally renowned head coach Bruce Pearl, the Volunteers made Miller a part of the first recruiting class under the new regime of Cuonzo Martin.

Miller is the fifth member of Martin's current signing class, joining guards Chris Jones, Wes Washpun, Josh Richardson and Quinton Chievous.
