Break-in at government building

POLICE still have no idea who broke into and ransacked a government building in Eight Mile Rock, Grand Bahama.

Police say that at about 7:40am Wednesday, an employee reported to work and discovered the office was broken into and ransacked.

The Environmental Health office, Road Traffic Department Sub Office, and the Parliamentary Registrars Sub office, which are located in the same building, were all searched, but nothing was reported stolen.

Assistant Superintendent Clarence Reckley said police believe the suspects were searching for money because documents seemed to be removed and tampered with. Nothing was reported stolen.

However, ASP Reckley said: "Sometimes you do not notice things are different are missing until you look for it."

Active police investigations continue.
