A TEENAGER and three men were injured in a drive-by shooting that took place outside BEC chairman Leslie Miller’s house during a party early Saturday morning, according to police.
Police Superintendent, Stephen Dean, said the shooting had no connection with Mr Miller, Member of Parliament for Tall Pines, who he said was not in any danger during the incident.
Mr Dean said the shooting may have been spurred from an earlier confrontation between a group of people attending the party.
He added that Mr Miller’s son was hosting the party.
Mr Miller could not be reached for comment up to press time yesterday.
According to police reports, at about 1:00 a.m. on Saturday a vehicle drove past Mr Miller’s house on Sassoon Drive and opened fire on a group of party-goers who had spilled out onto the front yard. The vehicle then sped off, police said.
A 15-year-old boy was shot in the hand, a 23-year-old man was shot in the right arm, a 22-year-old man was shot in the side, and a 20-year-old man was shot in the chest, according to police.
According to their reports, all of the victims were taken to hospital where they are being treated for their injuries. The victims’ injuries are being described by police as “not life-threatening”.
Police reports added that, a 2008 silver Honda Accord was also damaged during the drive-by shooting.
Mr Dean said the incident seemed to be isolated to a few people. “Sometimes you don’t know who you are inviting to your party,” he said.
Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact them at 919 or at 328-TIPS.

Why do Mr. Miller's sons seem to attract bullets? Another son was shot and killed? Is it something that they are doing?
