Two murders investigated

Police are investigating two murders.

The first incident reportedly occurred around 11:20 pm on Friday at McCullough Corner off East Street.

According to police reports two males got into an altercation which resulted in the deceased being struck to the head with an object.

The second incident reportedly occurred around 3:41 am on Saturday and resulted in the death of a 22 year old man of Hospital Lane.

Initial police reports indicate that a group of people got into an altercation at a business establishment in the Westridge Shopping Centre.

It is reported that the altercation extended to the parking lot where the victim was shot.

SHOOTINGS INVESTIGATED

Two men are in hospital following two separate shootings on Friday.

The first incident reportedly occurred around 11:00 am and resulted in a 42 year old male of Abundant Life Road, being shot.

Initial police reports indicate that the victim was at his residence when he was approached by a dark male, wearing a white shirt and blue short pants and subsequently shot.

It is reported that an exchange of words took place prior to the victim being shot.

The victim was taken to hospital where he is detained in critical condition.

The second incident reportedly occurred around 1:30 pm on the island of Eleuthera and resulted in a 28 year old male of Deep Creek being shot in the thigh.

Initial police reports indicate that the suspect was being arrested when he attempted to injure a police officer with rocks and bottles.

The suspect was taken to the local clinic and later airlifted to a hospital in New Providence, where he is detained in stable condition.

POLICE UNCOVER BODY IN OPEN GRAVE

Police have launched an intensive investigation after the body of male was found in a grave at Cowpen Road.

According to police reports shortly after 4:00 pm on Friday they received information that two men were seen disposing a garbage bag in a grave.

Police responded and on arrival observed the body of a male fully clad in an open grave at Spikenard Cemetery.

Police are questioning a 32 year old male of Kool Acres in connection with this incident.
