Donations to help fight breast cancer

A DOUBLE DONATION is helping to fight breast cancer in the Bahama.

The Bahamas Law Enforcement Co-operative Credit Union, consisting of 3,522 members, has donated $5,000 towards the Bahamas Breast Cancer Initiative.

Representative Denise Rose said: "On behalf of the Bahamas Law Enforcement Co-operative Credit Union, we are pleased to make this donation to help the fight in eradicating breast cancer in the Bahamas."

Doris Johnson High School's Interact Club also donated funds from a recent car wash to The Tribune's Cancer Campaign and the Bahamas Breast Cancer Initiative.

The initiative was created based on the alarming findings of researchers, in addition to the observations of Bahamian and American medical professionals, survivors and supporters committed to changing the status quo and creating greater awareness about the importance of early detection in saving lives.
