SINCE eight years old, Bahamian artist Rumah has been flexing his vocal muscles. Now, the Grand Bahama native is all grown up, with three rhythm and blues singles currently out, "Made for You, Baby", "Hold You Down" and "Made for You Baby".
Sharing his hopes with In Ya Ear, he said: "This is my passion and it is a part of what I live for. I would love to have my music judged on an international level in competing for Grammys, AMA's, Marlins, Brit Awards, Billboard Awards, and World Music Awards. Bahamen has proven that when you are talented and persistent there's no limit to how far your craft can take you."
In preparation of his upcoming album, Rumah recently released an official promo single called, "Only God", which was released under his new management company Paragonic Entertainment, LLC.
In heavy rotation on Freeport radio, he said "Only God" and future singles will definitely be shopped to radio stations for airplay.
"The feedback from fans has been amazing and humbling. They are the reason why I keep pushing because they expect a lot out of me; therefore, I must do it for them and to inspire the younger ones, who dream to be in the entertainment industry, to believe that they can do it as well," said Rumah.
After Rumah's management company merged him into its Youtube account of over 9,000 subscribers, his feedback for "Only God" grew to over 8,700 likes through his Facebook page SpreadTheRumah.
"Consequently, I am excited by the possibilities; moreover, I'm motivated by the people who have found interest and are inspired by my talent and drive," he said.
Speaking about his love for the art, Rumah said it was inevitable that he got into the business of music because his father, Pastor Rudolph "Rudy" Roberts, was also in the business having produced five gospel albums.
He said he would like to walk in his father's footsteps in producing the music that he love as well.
Rumah's talent has landed him two consecutive Best Pop/R&B Male Vocalist awards at the Bahamas National Arts Festival in 2008 and 2009.
"At times it can be difficult balancing my daily life and singing. However, thanks to my team and management I am able to balance my daily life and singing a bit better. It's a bit more structured now, " he said.
