FREEPORT: A MAN was arrested after he was allegedly seen throwing an object from his vehicle after running a red traffic light.
According to police reports, officers on special patrol were in the area of East Atlantic and East Beach Drives around 4.20am on Sunday when they spotted a white 2004 Hyundai Sant� Fe run a red light. While pursuing the vehicle, the officers observed the driver throw an object out the window.
The vehicle was stopped and the occupant was searched.
Officers discovered $11,170 cash. They then took the male driver back to the area where the object was thrown and recovered a chrome and black .380 pistol with six live rounds of ammunition.
The man was arrested and taken into custody. Police are continuing their investigations.
