Re: Americans Must Curb Appetite For Illicit Drugs.

Dear Sir,

The peace of Christ to you.

First let me express my gratitude to you for the work you do in sustaining the long and good relations America and The Bahamas have had these many years.

America has been good to us and we cannot fathom how we would manage economically without such a good and prosperous benefactor.

However, each time I hear of efforts on your part to educate the children of The Bahamas about the evils of illicit drugs and the joint efforts to catch drug barons on the sea and land – these efforts are to be applauded, but very little is ever said about what is taking place to curb the appetite of Americans for illicit drugs.

It seems to me that the drug trade in this region would be cut in half if more energy and funding were spent on reducing America’s appetite for this demonic substance.

I am applauding your efforts to remove drug lords from our streets and from the Region, but concomitantly you must do more to reduce the almost insatiable thirst for illicit drugs.

If the demand were reduced the nefarious trade in this region would be drastically reduced.

I remain,
