College of the Bahamas joins Urban Renewal effort

“URBAN Renewal and the College of the Bahamas working together to build a better society, reducing crime and poverty in the inner city” was the theme of a walkabout organised by Professor Felix Bethel, political science students and officers of the Bain and Grants Town Urban Renewal Project.

Corporal 2195 Garland Miller and Constable 2711 Walkes led the eager group of students through the Bain and Grants Town constituency.

The students examined social problems with a view to suggesting ideas and volunteering their time and effort.

Officers visited the College of the Bahamas and gave a power-point presentation to the Political Science class on Urban Renewal.

Officers challenged the students to come and see first-hand the conditions that many people face in the community of Bain and Grants Town.

"The Urban Renewal" is not for any college student, but only for those who want to make a change in society, to help the City Hall to fulfill its goals. An activist student is well seen by the teachers and it is a plus in his/her resume. So get involved in this movement.

It's correct and good for the students to have a motive for fighting against the crime in their city/country. They all want job fair in a better world, so they can rise their family in a safe mode.
