THE golf segment of the Bahamas Law Enforcement Sports Challenge was held at the Reef Golf Course, Grand Bahama, on Saturday. There were a total of 22 golfers comprising of 10 law enforcement officers and 12 civilians in two categories - Law Enforcement and Civilian

AMATEUR SHOW

THE Champion Amateur Boxing Club hosted its “Shout Out” to Ernie “The Androsian Tiger” Barr Amateur Boxing Show at the Wulff Road Boxing Square on Saturday. Barr is a former Bahamian lightweight champion.

The show had seven exciting matches. The results are as follows:

Lennox Boyce won over Steven Neymour - Referee stopped contest in round one

Colin Bullard won over Trevor Pinder – RSC in round two.

Kendric Stuart won over Keno Cartwright - 19-14

Don Rolle won over Tyrone Oliver - 28-25

Colin Bullard (second match) won over Carlos Walkine – 32-13 Donovan Taylor (second match) won over Kendrick Stuart - 22-20

Exhibition match - Jonathan Cox and Donovan Taylor

The best fight of the night was between Donovan Taylor and Kendrick Stuart. The most improved boxer was Kendrick Stuart and the most outstanding boxer was Colin Bullard.

Up next for Champion Amateur Boxing Club is the 18th annual Wellington “Sonny Boy” Rahming Silver Glove, scheduled for 6pm May 11 at the Wulff Road Boxing Square.

THE old Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium will be buzzing with activities once again this Saturday as the Silver Lightning Athletic Club hosts its annual Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Classic.

The event will feature competition in all age groups from under-7 to the open male and female categories. Medals will be presented to the first three finishers in each category, while ribbons will be distributed to the winners in the under-13 categories and lower.

The meet is being sanctioned by the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations (BAAA) and the Bahamas Association of Certified Officials (BACO) will officiate. The meet director is Rupert Gardiner. All of the local clubs are expected to participate.
