ORGANISATIONS joined forces to donate five specially modified wheelchairs which are valued at $13,000 to patients in the Robert Smith Ward of Sandilands.
The Royal Society of St George and the Bahamas Hot Mix bought the wheelchairs .
Joe Lewis, of Lewis Orthopaedics, measured patients suffering from the congenital disorder, Spina Bifida, then designed wheelchairs to meet their specific needs
Representatives of Bahamas Hot Mix and the Royal Society of St George were delighted that persons who had been previously restricted to the confines of their ward can now enjoy a view of the outside world while at Sandilands.
