Police appeal after armed robbery

POLICE need people’s help to solve two armed robberies that happened in New Providence in the last two days.

The first was on Tuesday around 10.35pm in the area of Nassau and Meadow Streets when a man was robbed by another man of his 2012 silver Honda Accord.

The second was around 3.40pm Wednesday when a man robbed another man of a deposit bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash.

In a separate investigation, two men aged 41 and 21 are in police custody after being found in possession of a handgun by DEU officers who were on routine patrol on Commonwealth Boulevard.

Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the two shortly after 4pm yesterday at Elizabeth Estates when they were pulled over in a blue 2004 Nissan Maxima.

Police in Eleuthera confiscated 25 marijuana plants from a property at James Cistern on Tuesday.

The plants were discovered about 450 feet off the road. No arrests were made but investigations continue.
