Biker killed in crash officially identified

FREEPORT – A motorcycle rider who was killed early Sunday morning on Grand Bahama has been officially identified as 29-year-old Keith Jamaal McCartney, of No 83 Hill Court.

He was riding a red and black Suzuki 750 on Queen’s Highway around 2am on Sunday.

According to reports, McCartney was travelling west, and a green Honda Civic, driven by a 49-year-old man, was travelling east and turning south onto Yellow Pine Street when the accident occurred.

McCartney, was not wearing a helmet, suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene.

His death has been classified as the eighth traffic fatality in Grand Bahama for 2013.

The victim’s mother is said to be devastated by her son’s death.

Police investigations are continuing.
