Five charged over robberies

FREEPORT – Five men were arraigned on armed robbery charges in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Justin Zonicle, 22, along with Bradley Curry and Andreo Smith, both 17, were charged with three counts of armed robbery, one count of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of robbery with violence and receiving.

Alexander Curry, 21, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of robbery with violence and receiving.

Shaquille Hield, 20, was charged with one count of robbery with violence and receiving.

It is alleged that the incidents occurred between July 20 and July 28, 2013.

The accused men were not required to enter pleas to the charges.

They were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison Fox Hill until October 22 and December 18, when they are expected to appear in Court One before Magistrate Debbye Ferguson and in Court Three before Deputy Chief Magistrate Helen Jones.
