Protest group calls for freedom of information and campaign finance reform

SEVERAL members of a fledgling political group, “Forward, Upward, Onward, Together” showed up in Rawson Square yesterday to call attention to “national issues.”

Member Alex Fox said that the group is pushing for a Freedom of Information Act and campaign finance reform.

The group protested directly across the street from Parliament, behind barricades erected by the police.

They carried signs asking the prime minister to enact the Freedom of Information Act that was promised under the Ingraham administration and calling for “no more deals without the Freedom of Information Act.”

Mr Fox said the group wants greater accountability and transparency from the government and the FOIA. “The people have a right to know what deals our government is making,” he said.
