A 60-year-old American has been arrested for failing to declare the firearms on his boat to Royal Bahamas Defence Force officers.

Acting on a tip, Harbour Patrol searched the man’s vessel, which was moored in Nassau Harbour on Wednesday at around 11:30pm.

Once aboard, authorities found two handguns, two shot guns, one rifle and a large quantity of ammunition for the weapons.

The RBDF officers arrested the man and turned him over to police shortly after.

Police said they are currently investigating.

In other crime news, a resident of Mackey Street, 47, was taken into custody after he was found with an unlicensed firearm.

According to reports, officers of the Mobile division on patrol at Palm Beach Street saw the man acting suspiciously at around 11 pm on Wednesday.

Upon searching the man, they discovered the weapon.

Another man was also taken into custody when officers found him in possession of dangerous drugs.

Authorities said they were on patrol at Blue Sky Lane off Abraham Street when they saw the 23-year-old man acting suspiciously.

When officers searched the man they found him with a quantity of marijuana.

Police are appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information they might have with these matters and other related incidents.

Good! Someone should declare his weapons, if not, he doesn't have the legal right to have them. Only a responsible adult can own a gun and only if he has a gun permit. Now, he can buy a used gun from http://www.beltwaygunandpawn.com/ or an new one, it is a personal choice, but he shouldn't forget that is entitled to use it only in some specific situations.

There are a few situations when someone can use his weapon, of course, if he has a gun permit for it. The most common situations are the hunting activities, made on the hunting season or if a person is obliged to defend himself or his property. In this country we have many amateurs for the hunting activities, but they should know that it is best to join a professional club, like the one at http://www.cedarknoll.com/, to learn this activity properly.

Only a person who has a gun permit can carry a weapon with him. Also, these people must enroll for a firearms training course to be able to shot a gun and afterwards to apply for a permit, for instance, the Florida Concealed Weapons Permit. Otherwise, a person who has a gun at him can be legally punished.

Since this man does not have proper papers for the firearms he was carrying, he should be questioned by the police. However, those who have guns they have to be careful and they should consider keeping these firearms safe in gun cases which they could find at CasesByPelican.com.

Did he give any indication on the reason why he had so many guns on board? Did he even have a permit for any of them? His actions are not something responsible gun owners would do, especially after the San Antonio CHL firearm instruction where they've learned about the seriousness of gun ownership.

The man was carrying lots of firearms with him on the boat and he should have showed the right papers to the authorities. However, these firearms should be properly examined by the authorities. If you have firearms in your house then you should keep it clean for your own safety. Use a good gun cleaner for this purpose, if you're looking to buy a gun cleaner then you should go online now.

Maybe the owner of the ship needed a gun to protect his property, but he should have declared it to the Police. But he should also have a quality radio with the best directional coupler to communicate with the Coast Guard whenever he has problems and he is far away at sea.
