POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an elderly man yesterday afternoon.

According to Superintendent Theophilus Cunningham, officer in charge of the North Eastern Division, the man was found dead in his home off of East Avenue around 12.30pm.

Supt Cunningham refused to reveal exactly where the body was found, if there were any apparent wounds, or if police suspect foul play.

He classified the case as a “death investigation”.

However, The Tribune understands the man is 56-year-old Steven Treco. Sources close to the investigation said a family member discovered the body on the bathroom floor with a vinyl clothes line tied around his neck.

Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact police by calling 911 or 919; the Central Detective Unit on 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 328-TIPS.

Police also revealed that they detained a 25-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman in connection with the discovery of an unlicensed firearm and dangerous drugs.

According to reports, at around 10.30pm on Monday, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on information, executed a search warrant at the suspects’ Emanuel Drive home.

During a search, the officers found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. They also discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana.

Investigations are ongoing.

Fifty-five?! Fifty-five is not elderly--unless you're a 20 or 30-something writer, I guess. Eighty-five is elderly. Sheesh...

As if we were in a movie remake as C.S.I. New York or another police series full of crime and things you don't want to find in reality.

Dressing appropriately while abroad not only helps you mark you as a tourist and fit in with locals and receive friendlier service, but it also protects you from standing out to pickpockets. When in doubt, look at what the locals are wearing.

Let's say that you have to teach children something about internet, and you would like to help them learn computer programming at a youngish age.

Since it can be said that humans are generally creatures of habit, the state of a person's home has been known to physiologically influence their behavior, emotions, and overall mental health.
