Defence Force officer chases burglar at colleague’s home

A DEFENCE Force officer went beyond the call of duty on Friday when he arrested a suspect attempting to break into a home.

According to reports, the officer was driving his vehicle when he noticed that the door to another Defence Force officer’s home had been damaged.

He also noticed that an unknown man was inside. The officer immediately stopped his vehicle and approached the home.

Three men ran out. The officer gave chase. He subdued one of the men after chasing him for about half a mile.

The young man, who was fitted with an ankle bracelet, was turned over to police for further processing.

The other two men remain at large.

It happened around noon on Friday in the area of Sunset Park.

Investigations are continuing

Police are also searching for two men, who entered a home off East Street and robbed the residents of an assortment of items.

It happened around 2am Saturday.

Police say the men, who were armed with handguns, robbed the occupants of the home of cash and I-phones.

Police are investigating and appealing to members of the public to contact them if they have any information on this matter.

They dont get the recognition they so deserve,there are a few bad apples,but the good ones outnumber them by far,this is an example of a real marine ,any place anytime for the call of duty.
