By 8:45pm, the "Independence Cultural Extravaganza" will begin with a performance from the Urban Renewal Marching Band, Church of God of Prophecy marching Band, and the All Star Marching Band.
A cultural show will follow at 9:30 - which will include traditional folk dances, musical performances, and a dramatisation, before ending in a junkanoo finale.
Scheduled to begin at 10:30 is a uniformed branches inspection motorcycle display, defence force drill, and canine unit display.
Following a musical display by the uniformed branches and a rifle salute, the raising of the flag will take place and the cutting of the independence cake.

The entire notion of tonight's celebration is to commemorate our Independence; it is not suppose to change much from year to year. We can alter, adjust, add too or whatever the activities in the lead up to after. We can even tinker with the event up to the point the official ceremony begins. However, what happens on Clifford Park tonight is suppose to remain the same for as long as there is a country called the Bahamas.

Church and state mixing. Suck Teeth. Will the guests be driven in the pastor's Bentley and will the other ministers do a symbolic fly-by in their private jets? And is the Flowers Group of Companies a sponsor?
I'd say Happy 40th, but there is not much to be happy about in my beloved Bahamaland.
