FREEPORT – A Jamaican national was charged with possession of dangerous drugs in the Freeport Magistrate Court yesterday.
Andy Lawrence, of Montego Bay, Jamaica, appeared in Court Two before Magistrate Andrew Forbes.
He pleaded not guilty to possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply.
It is alleged that on June 8, while at Freeport, the accused was found in possession of a large quantity of illegal drugs.
During his arraignment, Magistrate Forbes asked Lawrence if he had any legal documents explaining his entry in the Bahamas.
The accused said he entered the Bahamas illegally.
He said officers had seized his passport on his arrest. Lawrence was not represented by a lawyer. The matter was adjourned to August 26.
