Island-wide power outage

THE BAHAMAS Electricity Corporation experienced a power outage affecting the entire island of New Providence this afternoon, according to the untilty's public relations officer Arnette Ingraham.

Mrs. Ingraham said while the cause of the outage has not yet been established, BEC is working to bring all customers back online.

"Our efforts are now concentrated on returning generator units to service so that we can begin restoring supply," she said. "We have already restored power to some areas."

Just one of the main reasons for moving back to US. They promiseeverything is in tip top shape no more outtages and then the next day you are cooking, washing clothes or watching your favorite tv show and out it goes again. Get behind one month and they disconnect your supply with no warning. I don't see how people can even afford to pay their bill with it costing so much.
