A MAN is recovering in hospital today after being stabbed in the head and neck in an argument at Government House, The Tribune understands.

It happened around 2:50pm on Tuesday.

According to sources close to the matter, two employees at Government House got into an argument over who clogged a toilet in one of the bathrooms.

The argument resulted in one of them being stabbed multiple times in his neck and the back of his head.

He was taken to hospital where his condition is unknown. The 27-year-old suspect was also taken to hospital. He is assisting police with their investigations.

Police have confirmed that an incident did take place at Government House yesterday, but said it was not included in the crime report because it was minor.

Investigations are continuing.

In other crime news, a 19-year-old man is assisting police with their investigations into an alleged shoot-out at Flemming Street on Tuesday.

Police say that around midday several young men from the area were reportedly seen and heard firing gunshots at one another.

Police are actively investigating and are appealing to members of the public who may have any information to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

BTW Tribune: I see three (3) spelling errors in this story...1.) "19 y.o. make" - 'male' 2.) "alleged shot out" - 'shoot' 3.) "Police ar" - 'are'... .......................you're welcome!

@Honeybun. As incredible as it seems, trivial things cause alot of grief. My neighbour was stabbed to death over a piece of fried fish. The common denominator for violence over small matters is a lack of self-control.

Because the stabbing was 'minor' it was not reported in the crime report...thank you PLP crime statistics!! The person was stabbed in his neck and head...I'd like to find out what would warrant a stabbing worthy of the crime report...stabbing someone in the big toe??

@islander242. Which people are you referring to? The two idiots fighting over the clogged toilet, or the police who classify the fight between the two idiots as "minor"?

You have all been hoodwinked by the Tribune!
This never happened and the newspaper just made it up to see who would bite.
No one can tell me that two government workers who work at Government House would get into a fight over a clogged toilet.
And who would believe that the RBPF would not report a stabbing in the ‘head and neck’ and say it was not reported because it was not serious.
After all – crime is down.
You guys will believe anything??
And you wonder why Tall Russell is the top reporter at the newspaper??
