BAHA Mar hosted 24 members of the Bahamas Christian Council on a detailed construction site tour of the resort followed by a project briefing in the Residential Sales Preview Centre.
The delegation, headed by the president of the Bahamas Christian Council, Rev Dr Ranford Patterson, was made up of religious leaders from a broad cross-section of denominations.
The three hour event was chaired by Baha Mar executives Robert Sands, Senior VP of Administration & External Affairs and Uri Clinton, Senior VP & General Council.
During the event, the delegation was apprised of facts about Baha Mar including the use of Bahamian contractors and labour, the recruitment and training of Bahamians for positions at all levels of the organisation as well as the marketing strategy and the projected economic impact of the resort.
“Baha Mar is deeply rooted in the Bahamas and we value the support of our local community leaders,” said Sands.
“It is important to maintain open lines of communication.”
Rev Dr Patterson expressed his gratitude for the first-hand information stating that it will “open the eyes of Bahamian people to what really happens at Baha Mar.”
Baha Mar will have a total of 2,200 hotel rooms, spread across four major hotel brands including as well as The Baha Mar Casino & Hotel.

SMH, Why do they make this sham, this racket (council)feel like they are so relevant? seriously! all this crime going on in The Bahamas should't they be 'saving' some sinner? instead they touring 'Sodom & Gomorrah?' A place where fornication, gambling, idolatry, homosexuality..... Oh, nowwww I know why.

SMH...sometimes I swear. Please explain why the CHRISTIAN COUNCIL is touring BahaMar. They are not the governing body of the Bahamas. While the Bahamas is a Christian nation what on this green earth do they have to do with the BahaMar project. Unless you are there because they are opening a church in the hotel. Same Council against Bahamians gambling but they touring the hotel. SMH!!!
Just another opportunity for "niggas" to profile and act like they are important. Rev. Dr. Patterson why don't you and your council go and tour the Boys And Girls Industrial School, Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre, Her Majesty's Prison...shoots maybe if you toured more of these public schools you might be able to save one or two of them from ending up in those places.
I am sick and tired of Bahamians using politics and positions to make themselves more important...
