A POLICE officer is in custody in connection with the stabbing of two Defence Force officers over the weekend.

Details of the incident are still sketchy but sources say the men were at Arawak Cay around 12:35 am Sunday when they got into an argument, allegedly over a woman.

It resulted in the two marines, ages 20 and 23, being stabbed multiple times.

The 20-year old was stabbed three times in the chest and the 23-year-old was stabbed three times in the back. The Tribune understands that they are Alfred McKenzie and Decarldo Pratt.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Anthony Ferguson confirmed that an officer is in custody in connection with an “incident at Arawak Cay.”

“We have a stabbing matter that is under investigation that involved an officer,” he said. “We are actively investigating it and will provide an update as details become available.”

ACP Ferguson said the officer was not on duty at the time of the incident.

In other crime news, police are requesting the public’s help in locating two men they want to question in connection with an overnight shooting.

The incident happened around 11:10pm Monday.

Police say two men were sitting on a porch outside a home on Quakoo Street when they were approached and shot by two other men.

The victims were taken to hospital where they are listed in stable condition.

Police are investigating and appealing to members of the public who might have information regarding this incident to contact police at 911 or the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

And according to Keith Bell - Crime would have been worse if the FNM had of still been in!

I guess that means that two Police would have stabbed to RDF officers. So four would have been stabbed.

But then again, under the new reporting stats - maybe they were...

It is clear that the PLP has no plan to stop or at least lower crime.

The best thing they can do is reach out and accept the Olive Branch which Minnis is holding out and all of us work together on this problem.

Take Politics out of it!
