POLICE arrested 10 persons early yesterday morning after they were found in possession of a quantity of drugs. It happened at about 4am.
Police say officers from the Mobile Division, acting on intelligence, went to a nightclub on Madeira Street, where they conducted a search for dangerous drugs and firearms.
During the search of the club, the officers uncovered a quantity of marijuana. The ten suspects, nine men and one woman, were then taken into custody.
Investigations are continuing.
In other news, police reported no major matters on Halloween night, resulting in a “relatively quiet night”.
However, during the same night officers from the Northeastern division conducted a series of raids at several nightclubs resulting in three nightclubs being closed for breach of the Business License Act and eight arrests for various offences, such as stealing, causing damage and outstanding criminal warrants.
