Prison band shines in Rawson Square show

A VERSION of Los del Rio’s “Macarena” by the Prison Pop and Marching Band entertained tourists and fans in Rawson Square yesterday afternoon.

The drill display and performance by the band was part of the ongoing celebrations to mark 61 years of

service at Her Majesty’s Prison in Fox Hill Road.

Activities by prison staff have included a parade and church service; dinner and awards ceremony and a long service and good conduct awards ceremony.

Still scheduled for the rest of the week are a school assembly; community outreach session; sports day and on Saturday from noon, a mini fair.

The theme has been ‘Agents of Change: Transitioning from punitive to corrections.’

Shouldn't they be guarding the prison instead of playing while Nassau burns?
