Pope Francis shakes hands with Prime Minister Perry Christie during a private audience at the Vatican this morning. During the discussions, mention was made of the theme of emigration and the contribution the Catholic Church may offer to the Bahamas population, especially in the sectors of welfare and education. The two expressed their hope for closer collaboration in these fields. Ryan Pinder is in the background.

Nope. They are talking about the Canonization. Saint Hubert Ingraham will be made the first Bahamian saint because of his efficacy as the best Prime Minister that the Bahamas has ever seen. St. Hubert pray for us.

Many of our fellow Bahamians today cannot afford electricity, have no secure roof over their head and feel sick that their children go to sleep hungry each night. Meanwhile the devil incarnate and his minions jet set around the world (flying first class, staying in the finest hotels and eating at the most expensive restaurants) with absolutely no care or concern whatsoever for the terrible hardships an ever increasing number of us are having to endure because of their failed policies, poor management skills and outright ineptitude! It really cannot get too much more disgusting and disgraceful than this.........the Pope better wash that right hand of his with Dawn dish washing liquid and Holy Water!

@ Banker...Your Saint Hubert Ingraham is the main reason our country is in the present financial mess.
This jackass, idiot Ingraham borrowed $100's of Millions and gave as many contracts as possible to foreign contractors who took these funds out of the country despite IDB advice to give Bahamians the lions share in order to keep these funds in the local economy.
Now the present PLP idiots are putting the yoke on poor Bahamian necks to pay back Billions of mismanaged Billions through VAT.
Banker the FNM spin specialist pirate obviously is in the friends, family & lovers circle, because no one with less than an ounce of sense could consider Hubert Ingraham as nothing more than what the IMF, Moody’s and S&P branded him......."the worst leader in the region".
If Hubert Ingraham was any good what-so-ever, why was he solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected, solidly rejected.....By the majority of the electorate?

I have to go with banker on this one. Not because the masses believe in something does it make that something right. When we look at our campaign procedures, it is very difficult to say that voters have made the best choice, when they were enticed by money, jobs or other incentives to vote a certain way. In Short, Bahamians are full of shit when it comes to the truth. The majority are like spoil brats who kick and scream when they don’t get to have their way. They are not concern about the welfare of their brothers and sisters or their country-They are selfish and lack respect for each other. With these kinds of traits it is obvious that they will pander to the government who will play them for who they are: Puppets who run around in yellow and red shirts, pissing all over the place like dogs who don’t give a dam about the next day.
I truly believe that both the FNM and PLP are both bad for the Bahamas at this time. But to say that Hubert Ingraham is responsible for the financial mess we are in is erroneous. I believe that Mr. Ingraham will go down in history as one of the most respected prime minsters the Bahamas has ever had. It was his government that really put the Bahamas back on the map so to speak. No one puts it better than Ian Strachan-Below is an excerpt for an article he wrote about Mr. Ingraham in one of his blogs:
Hubert Ingraham is either loved or hated. It’s hard for people to be lukewarm where he’s concerned. And though some may find it hard to believe, more people love him than hate him. And here’s the other thing about Ingraham: Most of the people who hate him, or think they hate him, respect the heck out of him. Ingraham did not come from Nassau middle class respectability; he did not attend “the old Government High”; he did not travel to the UK for law school and therefore doesn’t have that confusing pseudo-English accent so many barristers have been flaunting. What he does have is the confidence of a rhinoceros and the political instincts of a shark, a tiger or a jackal (take your pick).
I’ll tell you what Ingraham respects: Hard work and discipline. I’ll tell you what he cherishes: People who are prepared to work hard for this country, but have no desire for glory; no warping hunger for power. If you know anything about politics, you know it is a rare breed of man who is willing to serve and not be served.

Agree. There are many here who agree with your spot-on assessment of Hubert Ingraham. His legacy to the Bahamas is plainly visible to any who wish to see it.

Are any of them even Roman Catholic? Who arranged this meeting, and what is the purpose of it? I guess the next move will be to have a Bahamian ambassador/consul stationed at Vatican City. Also wasn't PM Christie recently at Neil Ellis' church-to-do as well?

Perry Christie is a miracle of Bahamian Jesus. Bahamian Jesus' first miracle was to turn Christie deaf and dumb, in spite of the fact that he can still speak and hear. Pinder is out there looking for the magic spell that would make some of his words come true -- and to get more PLP-richer than his dad, and Fweddie is looking in the corners for a spare altar boy or two, so he can issue them Bahamian visas.
The Pope was gonna do some footwashing, but they ran out of battery acid for the water. Pinder announced that the Bahamas would corner the market in Holy Water (by taking CWC reverse osmosis water and boil the hell out of it), however CWC is still without a contract so that won't work.
The whole Bahamian delegation arrived at the last minute for the audience. They were fit into the Pope's schedule behind greeting-the-retard delegation and kissing-the-horrible disfigured group.
St Hubert of Abaco, pray for us.

I will give him a pass in one circumstance. If he succeeds in getting Pope Francis to deliver a speech from the Bahamas...that would be awesome...though we might hear some preaching about the city on the seven hills and the antichrist, which would .not. be so good...
