Four held in '$2.3m marijuana' drug bust

Four men are in custody after suspected marijuana with a street value of $2.3m was seized in Grand Bahama.

Shortly before 1am this morning, officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit were en route to an assignment when, while on Warren Lavarity Highway, they observed a van that appeared to be heavy laden with occupants acting in a suspicious manner. The officers pursued the van and signaled for the driver to stop which he refused. A chase then ensued that resulted in the van being stopped on Fishing Hole Road in the vicinity of Fishermen’s Stands.

The van was occupied by four males from Freeport. A search was conducted that resulted in the discovery of 21 duffle bags, each containing multiple packages of suspected marijuana. The men were arrested and taken into police custody with the drugs. Investigations are continuing.

Man just legalize weed and les make some money on it! Ridiculous people have to go to jail for something so damned benign! Alcohol is way more debilitating than weed.

LEGALIZE IT!

Let's say 100% duty on imported weed. This would have given our government revenue of over 2.3 million since shipping costs are factored in duty....
