PM in House row with FNM Deputy

PRIME Minister Perry Christie last night squared off against FNM Deputy Leader Loretta Butler-Turner in an explosive evening session of the House of Assembly.

Mr Christie was making a statement about the I-Group development in Mayaguana as heckling from both sides increased.

Mrs Butler-Turner rose to her feet to address the Prime Minister about her frustration with attacks aimed at her weight.

She suggested that Mr Christie had a personal problem with her, in fact, women in general. Mr Christie said he wished he could challenge Mrs Butler-Turner in a “true gladiatorial fashion.”

A pity, here we are talking about the looks of a woman who has "succeeded", relatively. She is married, she doesn't have a bunch of children all over the place and she has a job. I never hear anyone talking about *how much prettier Fred is than Obie or who you think look better in a suit? Perry or Dr Minnis? Perry look ok but Brave has nicer skin, Perry need to lose that belly too. BJ has really nice legs*.

Personally, I would like to see her lose weight for her own health and well being but it is unbecoming of the PM to ridicule her. Small men talk about people. That said Loretta has 3 strikes against her. She is a woman, we store more fat than men. She grew up in the Bahamas on possibly the worst diet ever invented by man, fat salt and sugar that's what we eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and midnight snack. And her genes, while most of us are lucky enough to throw off some of the pounds her family genes makes it probably three times as hard for her to do the same. Oh and fourth we're a lazy people, the furthest we want to walk is the front door to the driveway.

I think that Fweddie looks werry nice in a dress, and Obie's shade of lipstick is too red for his age. I think that Bradley Roberts should brush his teeth once in a while, and Perry Christie should get dermabrasion to clear up the skin on his face. Brave is gettin' a lil porky, and I am amazed that Ryan Pinder is getting Michael Jackson disease on his chin. I never knew that white people got that skin condition. Glenys should dye her hair -- she looks a mess and her face needs ironing. I think that Alfred Sears is the sharpest dresser of the Poofter Liberation Party ... er PLP.

It would be fun to see Christie go gladiator style with LBT. It would be fun to see him squeal like a pig.

@Banker while you are on a roll please help me with the meaning of "true gladiatorial fashion" because I can't stop laughing to myself every time I think about that phrase. What kind of man says this to a female?

That's how they win elections every year. Until we change the Constitution so that the Governor General is elected 2 and 1/2 years after each general election - we will be stuck in the water. All this talk about changing so many things in the Constitution is nonsense. The GG is mentioned in numerous places in the Constitution as having to "be consulted" on this and that - the problem is that he is a puppet of the PM. My idea would give the people a chance to "slap the PM" mid-term if he is misbehaving by appointing an opposing GG.

Personally I think Loretta is a beautiful woman despite her weight. Leave her alone. I picture BC as sitting on a pedestal all day fixing her face.

I doubt it. She is a hard working woman and up until I guess her "retirement" a few years ago she had one of the top positions in the offshore banking industry she is not a brainless beauty.
