ALERT residents saw an armed robbery and sprang into action to catch the suspect.
Police said around 6.40pm last night, the victim was at Churchill Subdivision off Soldier Road, when he was approached by a man armed with a knife who robbed his cash before fleeing on foot.
Residents sprang into action and detained the suspect.
The suspect was then handed over to police by residents and arrested.
A 20-year-old man of Union Village is in custody after he was arrested in connection with the robbery.
Investigations are ongoing.
Police said: "The Royal Bahamas Police Force takes the opportunity to thank the members of the general public for their continued cooperation and support."
