THE luggage compartment of a Pineapple Air plane opened on landing – sending luggage flying out of the craft, according to unconfirmed reports.
The Tribune understands the incident occurred early yesterday afternoon in New Providence.
When The Tribune contacted Pineapple Air, relaying the report and questioning if there were any injuries, an employee said there were “no injuries” and that the incident had occurred at the Lynden Pindling International Airport.
However, the employee would not confirm details, directing The Tribune’s queries to the Civil Aviation department. The Tribune was placed on hold for a supervisor at Pineapple Air, but the call was disconnected.
Calls placed to Civil Aviation, yesterday, were not answered.
An employee at LPIA’s Air Traffic told The Tribune they “heard of the reports”, but could not confirm the incident. “We don’t have any information” the air traffic employee said.

This is something the pilots over at our national airline could never experience. First, the "scheduled" flight would have to actually have tak'in off, before it could spill its luggage upon landing.

The information posted here is incorrect. The flight had just left Nassau in route to San Salvador when suddenly the cargo hole door flew open. This door is connected to cabin of the aircraft, 3 pieces of luggage were lost, nobody was hurt, just traumatized. The amazing thing about the whole situation is Bahamasair told the passengers that they are not responsible, because it was not their aircraft. If I buy a Bahamasair ticket and they downgrade the flight and sub it out to another company and something goes wrong they are accountable as well, because my ticket says Bahamasair not Pineappleair. I believe they owe those people an apology.
