TWO men were killed yesterday in separate shootings in Freeport - and a third was last night lying in hospital with serious injuries.

Both shootings took place at Adventurer’s Way - the first yesterday morning at about 1.45am, and the second last night, which saw two men shot at about 9pm, one of them fatally.

In the first shooting, 22-year-old Leonardo Pierre was shot multiple times.

The victim, also known as “Yellow,” was found dead with gunshot injuries to the upper body.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

Last night, police returned to the same area after the second shooting of the day - the third homicide in the past 36 hours on Grand Bahama following the murder of 15-year-old Alexis Smith.

According to reports, sometime after 9pm, police received information of another shooting in the area.

The victim is believed to be Sean Smith, aka, Sean Adderley. The identity of the second victim is not known at this time.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Emrick Seymour told reporters that a group of men were in the area on Adventurers Way when they were accosted by up to three other individuals who reportedly opened fire on them.

He said one of the men died at the scene and a second was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

“At the moment, we do not have a motive for the shooting. We are following several leads as to who the persons may be,” ACP Seymour said.

“We are appealing to members of the public or any who may have seen what happened to bring information forward to us so we can bring this matter to closure.”

When The Tribune arrived at the scene, police had cordoned off the area with police tape.

There is speculation that the shooting may have been in retaliation to the earlier shooting.

“One concern I have as the chief of police is that this is the third such incident we had in the past 36 hours.

“We have suspects in the first two and we will be bringing charges in the next few days for the incidents that occurred in Eight Mile Rock and the one that occurred here this morning,” he said.

“I want to say to people who have conflicts who are resorting to act of criminality that this is not way to resolve their problem.

“We want to appeal to members of the public to look for peaceful means to resolve their problems as oppose to resorting to violence,” he said.

This is because these wanted men in Nassau are fleeing to the family islands to escape whatever gang violence they would meet in Nassau. However, what happens when you take someone with a certain mentality out of one environment and place them into another- NOTHING!!! The same behaviours will continue...

These murders are just spill overs from Nassau, I won't be surprise if in some way these men were involved with some crime committed in Nassau.
