EDITOR, The Tribune.
Perry Christie has little interest in or understanding of foreign affairs. He’s basically let Fred Mitchell become the prime minister of foreign affairs. The problem is that Mr Mitchell is not the expert he believes himself to be. Remember the mess up in the appointment of an ambassador to the US. It was a routine matter that turned into a disaster.
Then Mr. Mitchell sends diplomatic notes on FNM leader Dr Hubert Minnis’ unwise example comparing the PLP to the missing Malaysian airlines plane. Dr Minnis was wrong. But Fred Mitchell made matters worse.
I read Mr Mitchell’s comments about the process for sending the notes.
His explanation was weird. Did he get prior approval to send the note or did he just hear Mr Christie’s criticism of Dr Minnis and then sent out the note? This is a question the opposition should ask.
Even though he keeps saying that he does things in line with the cabinet, Fred Mitchell regularly seems like a one man band. He seems to act like he is a president.
Fred Mitchell needs to come back down to earth both in terms of his big ego and his constant flying around the world as if he’s some major international leader.
To most Bahamians it looks like Mr Mitchell believes that he’s more important than the prime minister when it comes to foreign affairs.
What a laughingstock and embarrassment Mr Mitchell has become. If he saw himself the way his colleagues and others see him he might come down to earth and stop being so arrogant.
By the way, the day that Mr Mitchell becomes leader of this country will be the day pigs grow wings and fly.

Yeah Fred has truly lost his mind this time around. The Bahamas is paying for his life long dream of seeing the world this time. The travel is extreme this time and it is most definitely abuse of his office....

Well, the Right Honourable His Excellency Sir Frederick Mitchell said that he has to travel to get money for the Bahamas since Mr. Pinder and Mr. Rolle ain' doing nuttin'. So far his travels have netted the Bahamas over $500,000 in high quality manure (please pardon the irony)! Lol!!

Please .. you can't put a price on advertising. Mitchell constantly advertises for the Bahamas. The problem is that his message is that we are a hick, Third World Country. It's sad when Mitchell hasn't the brainpower to figure out that he is a backwards idiot without even a passing knowledge of the truth. He doesn't realise that the rest of the world laughs at him behind his back.
