The Bahamas landed its third medal of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, with a silver in the men's 4x400m final. The team of Latoy Williams, Michael Mathieu, Alonzo Russell and Chris Brown finished in 3:00.51, just behind England who took gold with 3:00.46. Trinidad and Tobago won the bronze with 3:01.51.
• The women's 4x400 team finished seventh in their final. Christine Amerti, Shaunee Miller, Lanece Clarcke, Miriam Byfeild managed 3:34.86. Jamaica took gold.
• In the women's 4x100m final, the Bahamas was sixth. The team of Katrina Seymour, Sheniqua Ferguson, Cache Armbrister and Nivea Smith finished in 44.25. Jamaica took the gold with 41.83.
• The Bahamas men's 4x100m team finished fifth in their final. Adrian Griffith, Shavez Hart, Warren Fraser and Teray Smith crossed the line in 39.16. Usain Bolt ran an impressive final leg to give Jamaica yet another gold.

That's great! Boy we are, indeed a force in track and field. We have a deep and strong stable of runners, especially in the 400 meters. With the new kid Alonzo Russell, and a time so close tto England, who won the race, speaks volume as to the strength of our athletes. If Ramon Miller was healthy, and in that race, we certainly would have won the gold. Good job guys!!!

I think the team did good. It always puzzles me as to how much better the Jamaicans perform than our own when we have more resources. The government needs to invest more in its people because at one time they believed in Bahamians now they seem to only believe in the Bahamas.....meaning its physical land.
